Jubilee exhibition of the annual photo, drawing and painting contest 'Palette and Camera in the Armed Forces'. The contest has its 25th jubilee in 1977. Several awards are handed out annually. SHOTS: arrival by army jeep of four soldiers with helmets; room where soldiers are busy developing photos; several shots of the exhibition; painting soldiers (in civilian clothing); the handing out of the Prince Bernhard silver medal by the new Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General W.H. de Savornin Lohman to the 72 year old Sergant Mellenbergh (both in military uniform). STATEMENT: Mellenbergh gives short explanations (off screen) for some of his paintings.
