A farce in which the poor Lamo has to flee after he tries to rob a rich cinema operator. While on the run, he starts working for a blacksmith, who then betrays him. The pauper Lamo crashes a party held by “a cinema operator who has become wealthy”. Lamo takes on the role of the bandmaster, but is soon unmasked and kicked out of the party. When he tries to get back in, he finds a bottle of chloroform, which he uses to intoxicate everyone inside of the house, and then cracks the safe. But Jim the safecracker has beaten him to it. The police appear on the scene, Lamo flees, and there is a mad chase. He goes into hiding at a blacksmith’s, and starts working for him. But the blacksmith is bribed by the person whom Lamo had tried to rob, and the blacksmith is forced to give Lamo a hefty beating. This is followed by a wild chase, after which Lamo eventually blows himself up.
